Torrey was the founder of Moody Bible Institute and Biola, and considered by man to be D.L. Moody’s Theologian. He was instrumental in developing the theological backbone for Mood’s revivals. He also experienced many great revivals himself, and is probably one of the greatest theologians of all time. This book has done more to influence my prayer life than any other work it is a great balance of theological ground work, and practical experience.
This book was written byJeanne Guyon, and it has played amajor part in shaping the prayer lives of amny influential christians including: Watchman Nee, Count Zinzenforf, John Wesley, Charles Spurgeon, A.W. Tozer, the early Quakers, Jessie Penn-Lewis and Hudson Taylor. It is a must read especially regarding praying in the Spirit.
Brother Lawrence was a Carmelite monk who after being born again realized that his chief purpose was to glorify God. In the kitchen of a Carmelite Monastery Brother Lawrence developed a method for perpetual communion with God. This book has taught me much about praying without ceasing.
Considered by many to be the seminal work on prayer, no prayer warrior should be without this collection. It is said that this Pastor “prayed a hole over Washington, Georgia”

I consider this hands down to be the greatest book on Intercession ever penned. The contribution this book will make to your prayer life, and especially intercession is invaluable.
Charles Finney saw great moves of the Spirit in New England in the 1800’s. This book is great overview of prayer with revival in mind.
Andrew Murray thought the best way to learn prayer was the way the Apostles did from Jesus! This book is a great overview of how to pray biblically.
